Don Mills Surgical Unit Inc.
("DMSU") has been in operation for more than forty years in the Metropolitan Toronto (Ontario) area. The hospital has an outstanding record of quality care, patient safety and personal one-on-one attention, treating approximately 4,000 patients annually.

The hospital, which was originally founded by a group of prominent Toronto surgeons, was purchased by Centric Health Corporation (TSX symbol "CHH") in the Spring of 2005.

DMSU specializes in a variety of surgical procedures, including ambulatory, short stay, and in-patient services. The hospital features two fully equipped operating rooms, a patient recovery area, and twenty in-patient beds. A new Pre-Assessment Unit has recently been added and a new patient family waiting area is being completed.

DMSU is accredited by the Canadian Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgical Facilities. An outstanding medical staff, all certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, is augmented by a skilled and experienced nursing and administrative staff. The staff of DMSU is proud to offer personal, private and individualized patient care not always available in larger public facilities.

In addition to income from fee based uninsured medical services to residents of Ontario, as well as private Ontario non-resident patients, the DMSU receives funding through a global base budget provided by the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long Term Care.

The Superintendent of the DMSU is Dr. Robert G. Gordon. Dr. Gordon received his Doctor of Medicine at the University of Calgary and was an orthopaedic resident at the University of Toronto. He is certified by The Royal College of Surgeons of Canada in Orthopaedic Surgery and is a Clinical Fellow of Sports Medicine at the University of Toronto.
